Melissa MacGregor

Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, SIFMA

Ms. MacGregor is Deputy General and Corporate Secretary at SIFMA.

Ms. MacGregor advises the advocacy and policy activities of the SIFMA General Counsels Committee, Technology and Regulation Committee, and Sustainable Finance Task Force, along with several specialized working groups. She covers issues including electronic communications and records, financial technology, data aggregation, privacy, data protection, outsourcing, and sustainable finance. Ms. MacGregor also manages the corporate legal affairs of SIFMA, including board interactions, bylaws, contracts, and association policies.

Ms. MacGregor is a founding member of the board of directors of the Financial Data Exchange and a board member for Doorways, a domestic violence prevention organization based in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to joining SIFMA, Ms. MacGregor practiced in the securities regulation practices at Crowell & Moring LLP and Clifford Chance LLP. She holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. from St. Lawrence University.
