Joe Corcoran
Managing Director, Capital Markets & Associate General Counsel, SIFMA
Mr. Corcoran is Managing Director and Associate General Counsel in SIFMA’s Capital Markets Group. The Group consists of committees focused on derivatives, equities, listed options, corporate debt, municipal finance, rates/funding, securitization, and primary markets. Mr. Corcoran serves as the staff advisor for SIFMA’s Primary Markets Committee.
Prior to joining SIFMA, Mr. Corcoran was Vice President in the Legal Department at the Options Clearing Corporation and previously served as Head of Government Relations there, providing counsel on compliance with federal securities and commodities laws and advocating on company and industry priorities before federal financial regulators and Congress. He previously served at NYSE Euronext, representing the NYSE Euronext exchanges on pending business initiatives, and at a national law firm in the firm’s Securities and Futures Regulation Group. He started his career at the SEC in the Division of Market Regulation.
Mr. Corcoran has a BA from the College of William and Mary and a JD from Tulane Law School.
